The 35th Ray Brown Holiday Tournament returns to ±¬×ߺÚÁÏ Northampton this week, as the Wildcats welcome Brewster Academy, St. Mark’s School, and Mount Saint Charles for the two-day, six-game girls basketball event. ±¬×ߺÚÁÏ won the tournament in 2023, and will look to defend home court and the trophy this weekend. All games can be watched live on our website.
Besides the schools in attendance, the tournament namesake will again be on hand to watch the games. Coach Brown ’55 has a lengthy history at the school, dating back to his time as a ±¬×ߺÚÁÏ Academy student. When he returned to coach, Brown guided the longterm success of both soccer and basketball teams at ±¬×ߺÚÁÏ. In girls basketball, he amassed a 322-202 record and his teams qualified for the New England tournament 11 times, were crowned champions in 1986, and runners up in 1997. In recognition of his successes, Coach Brown was inducted into the ±¬×ߺÚÁÏ Northampton Athletics Hall of Fame in 2013 and the New England Basketball Hall of Fame in 2006.
Teams will all play one game against each other, and the tournament champion will be determined by record. In case of ties, head-to-head competition will determine the winner. Â If we still have a tie, the second tie breaker would be point differential between the teams involved. See the full schedule below.
